How we get the numbers
The Lease Sheet shows every lease program the manufacturers are advertising this month, then does the math the ads leave out. We don't take money from dealers or brokers, and we don't rank deals for pay.
Where the data comes from
- Manufacturer lease programs. Each brand's published lease offers: payment, term, due at signing and expiration date.
- Editor picks. Monthly best-lease lists from Kelley Blue Book and Autotrader, which include the sticker price.
- Factory lease cash. Manufacturer incentives that lower the price on a lease, from the CarWhere incentive feed and RealCarTips' monthly summary.
- Local dealers. Fees and posted specials from Route 17 dealers in Bergen County.
We refresh everything every Monday and drop offers once they expire.
Regional pricing
Most brands price leases the same nationwide. Toyota, the GM brands, Ford and the Stellantis brands (Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, Dodge, Alfa Romeo) vary by region. Their deals are marked Confirm for 07423: check the payment for your ZIP on the brand's offers page before you go in.
What "$0 down" really costs
An ad that says "$0 down" usually still means you pay the first month, the sales tax and the fees at signing. We show three versions of every deal:
- As advertised: the ad's due-at-signing plus New Jersey sales tax on every payment, the dealer doc fee and registration.
- "$0 down" at a dealer: no money toward the price, but first month, tax and fees still due at signing.
- True $0 down: nothing out of pocket. Tax, fees and the first payment are rolled into the lease.
For the true $0 number, everything the ad asks for at signing is added to the amount you're financing. That amount is spread over the term with a rent charge, and you make one fewer payment because the first is built in:
k = 1 ÷ term + money factor
rolled amount = (due at signing − first payment) + doc fee + registration + NJ tax
Assumptions: NJ sales tax of 6.625% on all payments, an $899 doc fee, $300 registration and title, and a money factor of 0.0020 (about 4.8% APR) on the rolled-in amount. The brand's actual rate may be lower, which would lower the payment. You can change the fees on the Deal sheet page.
Fine print
Advertised programs are for well-qualified lessees, typically 700+ credit. Mileage is usually 10,000–12,000 miles a year. Offers change and dealers can decline to participate. Always confirm the final numbers on the dealer's worksheet before you sign.
